Our Mission

We started Crew because none of the banking apps felt like they were made for us. We believe your bank account should do more than just hold your money—it should be in your corner, helping you achieve financial success.
Billions of dollars are spent every year on product development and marketing to invent new ways to help you spend money you don’t yet have (BNPL, paycheck advances) or gamble it away (Robinhood, DraftKings), rather than save or invest it. Too few companies are building products that help you live within your means.
We’re building Crew to be a generational business. One that helps us, our kids, and millions of others achieve financial success. Our founding team came from a business charge card company that scaled to $1B in monthly spend in just three and a half years. We've already encountered a lot of first-time mistakes fintech founders make along the way like risk, compliance, scale, bank partnerships, funding challenges, and know how to avoid them.
Our product vision
Most budgeters' finance stack has three pieces:
- Bank account
- Credit card
- Budgeting app
We think that setup is suboptimal for a few key reasons. Credit card issuers generally only make money when you carry a balance, so they have little incentive to help you stick to a budget. The budgeting app tries to keep track of everything, but isn't tied to any actual money. So at best, it’s a reporting tool. It makes you feel bad whenever you remember to check it, but it doesn’t actually help you change your behavior. Meanwhile, your bank account is an undifferentiated utility that just holds your money, leaving you to do the mental math to make sure you can cover upcoming expenses. Not great.
We believe the bank account of the future brings all three together—and makes managing your money genuinely enjoyable
Crew fully embeds your budget into your bank account. When your paycheck hits, Crew automatically splits your money into pockets—so you spend directly from your budget. We support budgeting at whatever level of intensity works for you, and even offer flexibility for couples where one partner is more budget-focused than the other.
